Dua lipa is a English singer and musician born on August 22, 1995 from London United Kingdom. After working as a fashion model and songwriter, she decided to sign with Warner Bros Records and release her debut album "Dua Lipa" in 2017. The album reached the top spot at No. 3 in the U.K. Charts. The album had eight singles released including Be the One I.D.G.A.F. as well as New Rules. In the United States it peaked as number 6. Lipa won the Brit Awards in 2018 as a British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act and her album was certified platinum across the globe in a variety of countries. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanians Anesa Laxha and Dukagjin Lipa. Her parents are of Kosovo Albanian descent. Bosnian roots through her grandmother. Her family tree can be identified back to Peja, the Kosovo city of Peja. The two grandparents of Lipa were both historians. Gjin as well as Rina are her twins. Lipa was influenced musically by her father who was the lead singer and guitarist of the Kosovan rock band Oda. In the family, her father would continue to play music including his music and compositions, as well as songs of David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics.
